Coed Spring Break Party

From LoveToKnow Party

A coed spring break party is a rite of passage for most college students. Spring break is a time to cut loose, get a little wild, and make lots of new memories (not all of which you will want to share with mom and dad).

What’s So Special About Spring Break?

The lure of spring break is legendary. After a hard slog through fall semester and the dark days of winter, the weeklong springtime vacation is a chance for college kids to shrug off the homework, text books, grades and impossible-to-please professors and have a little fun in the sun. For many college-aged kids, this week is like Christmas, something they wait for all year long – and indeed, much planning for the festivities starts on the first day of fall semester.

The reason spring break is such an event is because it gets so wild. Coed spring break parties are the rule, and most of the time these parties last all night, all day and all night again. These aren’t your grandparents’ parties – these parties are all about crazy, fun times.

Coed Spring Break Party Locations

Let’s be honest – spring breakers aren’t looking for catered, formal affairs when they’re looking for parties. They’re looking for cheap beer, loud music, dancing, and plenty of the opposite sex to go around. For this reason, these parties aren’t so much about planning as they are about destination. Grab your bathing suit, your plastic cups, your mp3 player and your stamina and head to where you’re sure to find a college-friendly party in full swing.

Florida Beaches

College kids, ask your parents where to go to party, and they will no doubt answer somewhere in Florida. Panama City, Daytona Beach and Ft. Lauderdale used to be party central, with college kids from all over the country pouring into the state to get wild every year, much to the dismay of some residents. These cities are not the end all, be all destinations they used to be, but East Coast kids especially still head to the Sunshine State for spring break fun. They keep coming back to these places because they offer fun on a budget, perfect for student bank accounts.

Cancun and Cabo San Lucas

Mexico has become an increasingly popular party spot for college kids looking for a good time, especially the resort towns of Cancun and Cabo San Lucas. If you are heading to Mexico, check out a spring break package deal, which offers travel, accommodation at a spring break-friendly hotel and activities like booze cruises and beach parties, all for one price. About 300,000 U.S. college students go this route every year, so you are bound to be in good company.

South Padre Island

They say everything is bigger in Texas, and that certainly seems to be the case for coed spring break parties, at least on South Padre. This little Texas island has become a top destination for the college crowd in recent years and is a good place to have a great time on a budget.

Myrtle Beach, SC

Trips to Myrtle Beach on the infamous “Beach Weekend” are a rite of passage for high school seniors in the south, and many southern college kids continue the tradition during their college years. This so called “Redneck Riviera” destination seems like it was built with springtime revelers in mind, and even though the popular amusement park has shut its doors, you are guaranteed to find all of the partying you could want in this little South Carolina town.

Spring Break Cruises

For college kids with a little bit more dime in the bank, spring break cruises to the Bahamas have become a favorite way to take the partying to the high seas. Though these cruises aren’t specifically tailored to college-aged fun seekers, according to the operator, during March and April around 90% of the passengers are college students. The draw here? Isn’t it obvious – cruise out far enough and the drinking age becomes a college-friendly 18!

Other Spring Break Party Destinations

Spring break has become a worldwide event, and so you can find a party almost any place you go! Some other popular party locations include:

  • Miami
  • San Diego
  • Ibiza (Spain)
  • Jamaica
  • Acapulco
