Evite Invitations
From LoveToKnow Party
When managing the guest list to just about any size party, evite invitations provide a much simpler solution than their paper-based counterparts. One of their biggest appeals is that they can be absolutely free, through a number of different websites on the Internet. This guide is designed to introduce you to the wonderful (free) world of evite invitations, explaining a number of their advantages, and pointing you towards a few web destinations where you can start organizing your next party.
Evite Invitations
So, you've got your party decorations taken care of, your music selection all lined up, and even some party favors for good measure. The only thing you're missing… are your party guests! Whether you're organizing a birthday party, a stag, or just a casual get together, it is always important to ensure that everyone on your invite list is properly contacted and accounted for. Evite invitations are an easy, straight forward way to organize your guest list.
Advantages over Regular Invitations
Evites have several advantages over regular paper-based invitations:
- Instant responses. As soon as you've compiled your guest list and added the pertinent information (like date, time, location, occasion, what to bring, etc), you can send out your evite to everyone all at once and they will receive them instantaneously in their email box. In like manner, as soon as they make the appropriate clicks at the webpage, you can see whether this guest will be coming to the party or not, any suggestions they may have, and so forth. This instant communication cannot be had with invitations that are sent via regular mail.
- Updates. Sudden change of plans? Don't want to phone each guest individually to inform them of these alterations? Fret not, because when you make a change to the evite invitation, there is typically an option to send a mass email to all guests, even filtering out those who have already decided not to attend.
- Free. You simply cannot beat the price. Even when you purchase a large package of colorfully designed invitations from the dollar store, they will cost you at least a buck, not even counting the postage involved. Evites don't cost a penny, and are far more convenient. Welcome to the 21st century.
Websites that Offer Free Evite Invitations
Stick the term "evite" into your favorite search engine (Google, MSN Search, Yahoo!, etc.) and you will receive a very long list of websites that offer free online invitations ("evites"). Here are three of the most popular:
Evite.com
The name says it all! When you create an account with Evite.com, it not only keeps track of all the invitations that you send out, but also those that you receive from your friends and acquaintances. There is even a calendar function that allows you to keep track of all the events you plan on attending, whether you are the organizer or not. Some other key features that this website offers include an address book, party ideas, thank you cards (for after the event), a way to share pictures, and so on. There are lots of evite designs, including a lot of customization: instead of a simple yes, no, and maybe, you can change the responses to "rock on", "on the wait list", and "passed out in the bathroom"… or whatever other responses tickle your fancy.
American Greetings
It is interesting that American Greetings, one of the nation's largest card makers, offers free evites online. Just like the cards that you can pick up at your local store, their online offers are also quite varied. There are at least 24 different designs for birthday parties alone. They're colorful, cartoony, and a blast to use. Best of all, they are absolutely free to use and manage.
123 Greetings
Spice it up. 123 Greetings takes it one step further, as several of their evite designs involved animated graphics. The different e-cards are organized by event categories, like birthdays, weddings, anniversaries, holidays, and "food and drink" events. These evites are creatively designed and add a little extra pizzazz to your party.
