Graduation Invitations
From LoveToKnow Party
Graduations invitations are the announcement that it's time to celebrate a monumental life achievement. Whether it's a graduation from high school or college, your student has accomplished something wonderful! It's definitely an occasion you'll want to go all for.
As soon as you know the date of graduation, it's time to start planning the after party. Get out the party favors, crank up the music, and spread the buffet - it's time to celebrate this special occasion.
Graduation Invitations
Even if you've got every detail of your graduation party planned - even if the cake is perfect, the food is top notch and your decorations are extraordinary - a party is no party without guests. That's why it's important to pay special attention to the graduation announcements. You definitely want to let everyone know there's a party!
The wording on your graduation invitation needs to include the correct time, date and location. Directions should be included if the venue isn't a well known location. It is also helpful to note if there will be a dress code or if guests need to plan for expenses like cocktails or dinner if it's a no-host event.
The other important thing to include with a graduation invitation is a request for an RSVP. This can simply be included in the wording along with your phone number or email address or it can be included as a stamped RSVP postcard that your guests can simply drop in the mail to let you know they're coming. You'll want all those people near and dear to the graduate to be able to attend, so do send out those graduation invitations with plenty of time for folks to adjust their schedules accordingly. Some people like to send a "save the date" card a couple months ahead of time then send the actual invitation a few weeks before graduation. Do what makes sense to you.
Get Personal!
A graduation party is the perfect opportunity to celebrate the uniqueness of the guest of honor. Your student has worked years for this achievement. No doubt along the way he/she has discovered some personal talents and interests. Perhaps this graduation is the natural progression of a hobby to a career.
Is your student an athlete, an honor student, has he/she officially become a doctor, a business school graduate, an elementary school teacher? Incorporating that uniqueness into a graduation invitation is a creative way to honor all these interests, accomplishments and skills.
Take that interest or skill and show it off in your graduation invitation. You can do this by turning that uniqueness into a theme that is reflected within the paper, the images, font and design. If your daughter is graduating with an art degree, get creative! Turn an ordinary card into a fold out, pop-up card that is custom printed on a letterpress. Is your son an outdoor, nature-loving soul? Honor that with recycled, natural paper and images of a special location.
Enjoy the Moment
Overall the thing to remember with graduation invitations is to send them in a timely manner to each and everyone one of the people you want to attend the ceremony and celebration. Care in being accurate and timely with bring much success for your graduate's celebration and will be appreciated by the guests.
