Licensed Products

The official licensed High School Musical invitations feature the entire cast in mid-leap. The front of the design says, "We're All in This Together," referencing one of the movie's popular songs. The interior of the card features the saying, "Gotta Dance, Gotta Sing, Gotta Come and Do That Party Thing!" A series of blank spaces follows, including places to record the party occasion, date, time, place, and R.S.V.P. information. The invites are available in packs of eight. They are suitable for any party since there is no mention of birthdays or any other specific occasion.

While buying licensed High School Musical party invites, don't forget to purchase related products to complement your theme, like thank-you notes, napkins, and balloons. You might want to seal your invitations with official High School Musical stickers or include some themed confetti in each envelope.

Home-Made High School Musical Party Invites

If you would like to make your own unique invitations for your High School Musical party, there are several possible designs you could use to fit your theme:

  • Theater Program – The front of the program can announce the High School Musical party. Inside, where a program would normally list the actors and their roles, list the details of the party.
  • Ticket – To fit the party theme, you can create a ticket to the musical or to a basketball game. Cut a slightly rectangular piece of cardstock and label it "Admit One."
  • Back Stage Pass – A rectangular card can easily become a "VIP" or "All Access" pass.
  • Pennant – The Wildcats' team colors are red and white, so you will need red or white cardstock. To make a pennant card, cut a long, thin diamond and fold it in half, writing the party information on the inside. You can also cut a single triangle instead of a fold-over card and write on the back of it. With white cardstock, you can use a color printer or hand-write the details in ink or marker. For red cardstock, write with a white gel pen.
  • Paw Print – Another Wildcats-themed invitation idea involves a cat's paw print. Draw the paw print on the bottom half of a piece of cardstock. Fold it in half, with the top of the paw near the fold, and cut around the edges of the paw. Like the pennant, you should use contrasting red and white for the school colors.
  • Other Shapes – Using the same technique as the paw print, you can also create cards from other relevant shapes, including musical notes, a microphone, or a basketball. Use your imagination to come up with even more ideas for your High School Musical party invites.

Home-Made Invitation Tips

  • While several of the previously mentioned designs involve custom shapes, it's also possible to use the themed images on traditional cards. This can be easier for working with a card-making computer program and printing on blank cards.
  • If you're designing an irregularly-shaped card, like a triangular pennant, make sure it can fit inside an envelope.
  • If you're focusing your invitation on a single image, like a microphone or paw print, the host of the party may want to draw it herself for a truly personalized invite.
  • Clip art and rubber stamps are other good sources for images.
  • If you're creating hand-made invitations, there's no reason why you have to settle on just one design. Create a different invite for each guest. You can base it on each person's interests, so the jock will receive a basketball and the diva-in-training will find a microphone in her mailbox.
  • Include a small map to your home as part of the invitation design if your guests have never been there before.

Party Time

Whether you choose ready-made invitations or decide to let your creative juices flow in designing your own, your High School Musical invites will stand out from the crowd. Now that's something to sing about!
