Where do you find Tuxedo Rentals?
The most common place to rent a tuxedo is at a men’s suit store. The following locations listed below are some great tuxedo renting establishments.
Men’s Wearhouse
Website: www.menswearhouse.com
Men’s Wearhouse has stores all over the US along with its online website. Offering a wide selection of tuxedos and suits for any occasion, you can rent or buy the ensemble of your choice. For tuxedo rentals, they do recommend calling ahead for an appointment since the selection and fitting process takes a bit of time. They suggest a minimum time of 14 days before your event so you will get the suit on time. You can rent the suit for up to two weeks, and you can return it to any of their many locations.
After Hours Formalwear
Website: www.afterhours.com
Boasting a varied selection of modern to classic men’s suits, ties and shirts, it is a great place to find the tuxedo rental you need. Before going to their store, check out their website. In all of their tuxedo and suit sections, you can mix and match colors of different types of ensembles before you leave home. Send copies of the suit color choices to friends and family for their opinion or approval. The site also offers advice on suit/tuxedo selection, wedding tips, and how to put on ties.
Tux Rental Online
Website: http://tuxrentalonline.com
Tux Rental Online offers a unique service of ordering a tuxedo rental online. There is a fair selection of colors and styles to choose from. However, you will need to know your measurements before ordering; otherwise it could turn your special occasion into a disaster. Tuxedo rentals on their site cost only $48.50 plus shipping. Keep the tuxedo for up to 2 weeks. After you are finished with the tux, mail it back to them in the box given with their return label. They charge a late fee of $3.00 per day past the return date.
Tips for Tuxedo Rentals
So you’ve found the right place for your tuxedo rental, now what? Check out the following tips:
- Get a professional to measure you for the perfect fit.
- When reviewing the different colors and styles make sure it is appropriate for the occasion. Is it black tie event or some other variation? When in doubt, go for a conservative look. Nothing is more embarrassing than looking at your pictures years later in a crazy looking (and unflattering) ensemble.
- For prom events, color coordinate with your date so you will not clash. Also, make plans to rent your tuxedo a least a month in advance.
- If you are a member of the groom’s wedding party, all participants must have matching tuxedos. When renting your tuxedo for this special occasion, give yourself 2 to 3 months in advance.
- For black tie events, choose the color of your tuxedo based on the time of day and the nature of the occasion. Gray is appropriate for before 6pm, while black is best for evening events.
- When you pick up your tuxedo, try it on before you leave the store, to ensure the perfect fit and to prevent later frustration.
