Thanks for sharing, Billie Jean. A party bus rental is a great idea!

My husband is turning 4o in 2 weeks and I rented the Big Cheese (school bus) and we are Pub Hoppin around town. It's safe and even the DD can have fun!

Along the lines of the kids activities you've already mentioned, go-carts could be fun. Guests of all ages can have fun speeding around a track. Since your husband's birthday is in October, you could also take advantage of fall activities and invite the guests to a cider mill or a haunted house attraction. Hope these ideas help get you started.

My husband is turning 40 next month and I want to throw him a surprise party with a twist. I'd like to do an active, kid-type party like mini-golf, laser tag or something to remind him and all the guests (probably around 20-25 guests) of our younger days. No ponies, clowns or pin the tail games. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!

Thanks for the suggestion, Kelly. That sounds like a fun surprise for the person turning 40.

A great idea for a 40th birthday is an over-the-hill lawn decorations! There are lawn greetings companies in almost every major city that can be hired to sneak into the front yard to fill the lawn with buzzrds, tombstones, or even pink flamingos! Its a fun sign surprise!
