Sorry the article wasn't entirely to your liking, but if you have additional ideas, you're welcome to share them in the comments. If you're inviting guys to your party, Alexis, there's a discussion of co-ed teen party tips in our forum that you might find helpful. Hope you have a great first Halloween party!
-- Contributed by: Lorie Witkopokay, i'm going on 13 in february soon and i am very competitive when it comes 2 parties like this. this'll be my very first halloween party and i have a week and a half to plan it! i need all the help i could get and i think this is an ok article but i think you could do better at listing more ideas. i am thinking of inviting boys too so overall, it's good.
-- Contributed by: AlexisIt sounds like you and your friends know how to have fun, Morgan. If you're still looking for ideas, you may be able to adapt some of the ideas from our articles on Teenage Birthday Party Games and Coed Teen Party Games for Halloween. For instance, you could play Charades but only act out horror movie titles.
-- Contributed by: Lorie WitkopI am a teen myself, looking for game ideas for my party this year. I was surprised that you think we are "anti-activity", because my friends and I love cheesy games. Its a great way to get more comfortable with each other and to laugh at ourselves.
-- Contributed by: MorganWe certainly don't mean to underestimate teens, Kirsten. There's just only so much we can include in a single article. Feel free to share a specific activity, decoration or menu idea with other readers.
-- Contributed by: Lorie WitkopI find this extremely vague. As a teen, I could write a more thorough description complete with activities, decorations, menu ideas, etc. All you've written are things people could figure for themselves without much thought. Teens are underestimated these days...Sigh.
-- Contributed by: KirstenGlad we could help, Clara. Good luck with your party!
-- Contributed by: Lorie Witkopthank you so mutch for your advise im not the most popular girl but this year after the party that im about to throw i know im gonna start being known alittle better!
-- Contributed by: claraHappy to help, Destiney. Some of the suggestions in our more general teen party articles, such as Teen Party Activities, may also be of help to you.
-- Contributed by: Lorie WitkopYou are so right about the anti-activity thing! Thanks for your help!
-- Contributed by: Destiney SwangerGlad we could help, Fizz. You might also enjoy the fun snacks in our article on Halloween Party Snacks to help round out your party menu.
-- Contributed by: Lorie WitkopTHANK YOU SOOO MUCH!! MY CHILD WILL LOVE THIS PARTY!!
-- Contributed by: FizzThanks for the suggestions, Bryce! It sounds like you have a fun evening planned that is in the spirit of Halloween (lots of candy and scares).
-- Contributed by: Lorie Witkopi am a teenager myself and for my past halloween parties i have had some games and movies and trick or treating (more childish things.) now i am ready for something a little bit more for my age. this halloween i am planning on inviting three or four friends over to watch some classic and newer horror movies (the grudge, night of the living dead, prom night, poltergeist, the exorsist, etc) i will also include snacks like popcorn, fun halloween candies (gummy body parts, pumpkin lollypops, others) and soda to drink. this makes it an easy way to have a halloween party without having to worry about being the coolest or spending lots of money...hope i could give somebody some ideas(: another idea is going to a haunted attraction before doing this if you want to add a little extra(:

-- Contributed by: JadeThanks for sharing your experience, Kayce. It sounds like your daughter had an unforgettable party. Recruiting older family members to be chaperones is a great idea.
-- Contributed by: Lorie WitkopMy daughter had a Halloween party last year and it was a huge success...she invited 30 people...and 21 showed up. We just did some basic decorations in the basement...had plenty of food and drinks (pepsi, coke, water, ale 8 , etc) set up in a room to the side...opened up the basement den for movies and dancing ...the kids had a blast. Since I was mom...I stayed upstairs but had recruited my brother and two sisters as adults chaperones ...my daughter was cool because one..MOM stayed out of it...and the kids enjoyed my siblings antics :) She is planning on the same thing this year. I was nervous about so many teens in my house at once...but it went off without a hitch :)
-- Contributed by: KayceIf the weather cooperates, an outdoor party is a great idea for Halloween. Think ghost stories around a campfire and after-dark scares. Thanks for sharing your experience, Mande.
