robbie, someone who REALLY wants a cool party will have their friends come over to hang out or watch a movie.my favorite is have a bunchof your friends come over and have a gutair hero and ddr competition. its a whole lot of fun if you give out prizes. just go with your guts instinct and everything will work out just fine.in addition you shouldnt act like your 14 or 16, and you shouldnt have a party to impress your friends.

Since you like teen activities, Robbie, you might find some helpful ideas in our teen party articles:

For some other ideas, I liked Mary's mall party theme that was added to the comments of the Coed Teen Party Games article. Going somewhere as a group is always a fun party activity, whether you go glow bowling or catch a movie.

Mary, are there any community rooms or halls available for rental in your area? If a family member belongs to a church or a community organization like the VFW, these groups sometimes have halls and offer rental discounts for members. Does you local pizza place have a banquet room you could use afterwards for games and activities? (I say pizza place because that's a common party food that you'd be spending money on anyway, so maybe you can get a party venue out of the deal, too.) Do any of your sister's friends have a larger house they would be willing to offer for the party? This could actually help in keeping it a surprise if she thinks she's just going over to a friend's house for the night. Without knowing your town, these are some general ideas I was able to brainstorm. Hope it helped.

I am planning a surprise party for my kid sister -- it's her golden birthday, turning 17 on the 17th. I've searched the internet and come up with a lot of great ideas for activites, but I'm still stuck on a location. Our house is too small for guests, and something like bowling is a bit out of the price range of a college student like myself. Where is a good place to hold a teen party in the middle of February?

When you say you're in charge of the program, Jazz, I'm not sure if you mean all the activities for the party, or a paper program to be handed out to guests. If it's a paper program, then some of the printable invitations available online might help you with graphics and layout. In terms of activities, a really memorable way to incorporate the 18 roses would be to find 18 friends and family members to present the birthday girl with a rose while saying what they like best about her. You could set this up as a formal ceremony, leaving the rest of the party as formal or informal as you like. If you record it, it can also be a memento of the event. The article Birthday Ideas for 18th Bday might also help you think of more ideas. Hope this helps.

My friend and I are planning a party for a large group of 8th graders. We both checked online for ideas pertaining to activities and found results only for make-out parties. Obviously, we didn't want to do this. Your site really has some great ideas. I just wanted to say thank you, and keep up the great work!
