Thanks for the feedback, Mary. As you say, this alternative type of "rainbow party" is a thing of urban legends, fueled in part by the fictional accounts in a 2005 young adult novel on the topic. However, the term is commonly used as presented in this article, as an affirmation of a teen's sexuality after coming out to friends and family.

Really? Are you all living in ghe dark ages? A rainbow party is a group sex event of urban legend involving oral sex. At these parties, said to be increasingly popular among adolescents, females wear various shades of lipstick and take turns fellating males in sequence; this leaves a "rainbow" of colors on their penises. Google works wonders when you need to verify information!!

Fabulous ideas

It is hard to ignore the rainbow's status as a symbol of gay pride, but there's nothing wrong with just enjoying the range of colors. I hope that the decorating and food ideas were still helpful for you. Another possible idea for a rainbow party would be to have a scavenger hunt where you look for "the ______ at the end of the rainbow" (playing on the idea of finding a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow) whether the guests are looking for clues to a puzzle or party favors.

Hi. I'm erin. Not gay. Not lesbian. But in love with rainbows. I think that this Gilbert guy soiled the rainbow's name. I dont have anything against gayness, but now when i tell people that i love rainbows they ask if im gay. I found this page beccause im planning a rainbow birthday party for my friend who also loves rainbows.
